A Future for Rabobank

Due to the digitalization of society and the inevitable increase of the Internet-of-Things in daily life, the question of what values companies can bring to society on a local and global scale becomes much more urgent. This also applies to service-oriented companies like banks and other financial institutions. It's being expected that cash will play a marginal role in the future, and digitalization could mean that banks in the traditional sense could become obsolete. Commissioned by Rabobank, we looked into how to keep the client relevant in a digitalized future.

Our proposal for Rabobank was to go back to their roots, and embrace the concept of 'membership' over customers. By this, members become involved in Rabobank's business and influence policy. This will build trust between the bank and its members; something that is not self-evident in the future, based on trends regarding fake news and distrust of large companies and governments.
