Coffee counter

The goal of this project was to transform an empty building in the Witte de With area in Rotterdam, to host a retail space. In this, it was important to furnish the area in a way that matches the brand identity of a self chosen company. For this, I chose coffee roaster Boot. My personal goal was to match the luxurious aesthetic of the brand with the industrial look of the space being used.

The coffee counter, consisting of impregnated hardwood with anodised steel elements effortlessly blends into the environment. The used materials also emphasise the gold and white colour palette of the Boot brand. The counter could be used in several configurations; a single unit can be put against a wall to create a closed off counter, or two units can be put together to create an island with one or two points of sale. The employee area contains enough space to store glass- and stoneware, warming units for cups, a residue drawer, a fridge and stockpile of coffee beans.
